Family

Some families are large; some families are small. However through ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ and ‘Death of a Salesman’, a larger range of families were on display, which in turn affected the characters’ actions that defined their personality, and expanded the plot of the texts. Families are a group of people, linked through their heritage and genes. Today, the word ‘family’ insinuates a welcoming and loving environment where fathers, mothers and children all exist without serious problems. The ‘American’ texts prove otherwise. Of course there are still dysfunctional families in the modern day; and content families decades ago. But through those two texts, we can see how the attitudes of the societies at that time affected the relationship of familial members.
